Spreading Some Southern Small Biz Love: Georgia Edition
My friend, and once SBV contributor, Rachel Wilson posted something interesting on her Facebook the other day:
“According to a recent FEMA report, 40 percent of small business will never reopen following Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. Being closed for almost a week with *zero* income can be devastating for a small business, not to mention the damages to building and inventory from a storm. I’m making it my goal this week to shop small. Some of my favorite local/small businesses are: Sara Jane Children’s Boutique ?, Harkleroad Diamonds & Fine Jewelry ?, Auspicious Baking Company ?, Brighter Day Natural Foods Market ?, Ghost Coast Distillery ?, Fork & Dagger ?, and Savannah Coffee Roasters Café and Bistro ☕️ What are your three fav small local businesses and where will you be shopping small this week? #buylocal #buylocalsavannah #shopsmall #makeadifference“
Which got me to thinking… there’s so much all of us can do- and the holidays are just around the corner! So here’s some of my favorite Southern born businesses I’m going to be doing my holiday shopping within the state of Georgia:
Around the state, online, in retail stores

This is actually another Southern Bon Vivant product, but it’s made by my two sweet babies! They discovered that they LOVE to make jewelry!

Not only do they make great products- but they’re awesome people!
This once small Georgia business has become huge! You can find their products nearly anywhere, but we love that you can please even the pickiest gift recipient with almost anything here- and you can still find them in many small businesses.

Let’s be honest, everyone loves cookies!
Macon & Middle Georgia
Ok, so color me biased- but my own dining room table will be delivered VERY SOON from these guys! And if you’re in a serious relationship it’s never a bad idea to go all out on a grand piece of furniture for a gift.
GUYS- only 7 days left to purchase their facial deal! Seriously this is one of the best all natural facials I’ve ever had.
One of my very very favorite things is yoga, and it’s one of those things I don’t do enough for myself. The AiReal Yoga is my super fave, and while some might find it intimidating- I think it’s actually a great introduction into yoga. You’ll find it’s easier to get into certain poses that you might find difficult otherwise- and leave super empowered.
There’s always something clever and creative here for any little ones- mine can amuse themselves for hours with these fun toys.
We love everything these ladies have to offer! Facials, Foot Detox, a special sauna that uses DRY HEAT so you can use your computer while in it…. this is the ultimate spa getaway! Want more details about what we’ve tried so far? Go here!

Rumor has been our clothing and accessories stand by ever since they’ve opened. Paige Jeans are especially our fav, as well as Moon & Lola jewelry, and handbags, and… everything!
Savannah & Coastal Georgia
Jessica and her team at Southern Sugaring will take special care of you from the moment you walk in the door! And they offer more than just sugaring services, they’ve also got swim & lingerie wear along with other retail items.
Planning on asking a certain question over the holidays?! We’re loving the options at Harkleroad!!

Every kid should have classic clothing, especially during the holidays! We love all of the options at Sara Jane’s- and they will ship, too!

Finding yourself in need of the finest home decor and gifts on St. Simons Island and the coast? Look no further than Cachettes!
Athens & North Georgia
No trip to Athens is complete without stopping into Avid Bookshop, you can literally pick up something for everyone here.
We first discovered this adorable gift shop during our Girl Meets Athens trip, and it’s still one of our favs.
Omg. If you have a chocoholic in your life THIS IS A MUST STOP PLACE!!! Truffles cookies and more oh my!
We’ve listed SO MANY PLACES- and there’s even more to love! There’s no way we’ve even scratched the surface here. What’s your favorite small Georgia business? We might feature them next!
Love to all y’all,
