A Whole Day of Food, Fun, and Music

Do you ever have a day that you know will be super fun and jam packed and will also be tasty and have great music?!

I do!!! It’s this Saturday, August 20th, when Moveable Feast presents their second event in cooperation with Robinson Home. Sweet Meets Sour will celebrate American farming and our veterans who have fought to protect us.

From the event page:

“Feast Episode 2: heritage is all about bringing our American heroes into the spotlight and helping them get both the recognition and support they deserve.  Jon Jackson, owner and operator of Stag Vets Inc and Comfort Farms as well as Army Ranger veteran, seeks to help give our veterans suffering from PTSD both rehabilitation and vocational training through his foundation.  Comfort Farms raises only the best in rare breeds of pigs, cows, and rabbits for use in the culinary arts.

Sweet and Sour is an Asian cuisine inspired cooking and tasting class at the Robinson Home August 20th from 12pm to 2.  Chef Kevin McCauley will demonstrate how to use heritage pork to make truly delicious dishes, Ryan Smith will demonstrate a Beijing inspired cocktail using fresh Basil from Comfort Farms, and Jon will teach us about the importance of heritage farming as well as how we can get involved in supporting his charity.

Tickets include 3 courses, and 1 cocktail.”

Some of y’all might remember Ryan as he used to be one of our editors. I can personally vouch for his cocktail skills. And Chef Kevin is really a lot of fun to watch and learn from.

Ryan also tells me there will be “a Whole Hog Smoked BBQ dine in or take out picnic at H&H + a Corner Concert at Lanier park across the street from 7:30 – 10:30.”

So you get a great cooking class plus you can also check out the Corner Concert that night!

Cooking class tickets are here.

Corner Concert’s tickets are here.

As for the BBQ, Ryan says “It’s first come first serve pay at the door for the BBQ. 15 per plate gets you a quarter pound smoked pork, 2 ribs, Brunswick stew, and potato salad.”

Hope to see y’all there!!!

Love to all y’all,

Molly
