Well, You’ve Been Asking For It (Some of You- That Is)

I’ve had friends ask me to write about the troubles that plus size women have in regards to finding clothes, and it’s a topic I have felt uncomfortable with simply because it’s a topic I feel like I couldn’t genuinely write about.

Don’t get me wrong I sympathize my mother is a petite lady who probably falls in somewhere close to a plus size and shopping for her isn’t easy. Even just going with her finding cute clothes is a challenge. However I’m happy to say that one of my very favorite local boutiques is now carrying plus size clothing.

Rumor Boutique in Forsyth Road in Macon, Georgia has just started carrying plus size clothing- from sizes XL to a 2X. “Perch” by Blu Pepper is one of the lines, and I love Blu Pepper’s clothing. UmGee is another one (and I like that their website says they are supporting the American Red Cross’s efforts to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan).

They have some really cute items, and I am in love with the black top with sequin details- it’s perfect for holiday parties:

I spoke with one of the owners, Judy, today of Rumor. One thing she emphasized is that they are keeping the plus sizes apart from the other clothing items after getting input from customers who didn’t want to have to sort through the 2’s and 4’s to get to their items. Also- this is something new for Rumor so they do only have two lines in while they research others- but they WANT input from customers so they can be on the lookout for what y’all want.

The other thing to keep in mind is, if you are a plus size lady, you will want to supper this venture so that Rumor will continue to get plus size items in- after all, otherwise they may not keep those items in.

So go and check them out. I know this may not have been the post that some of my friends were wanting me to write, but I think it’s even better to be able to report that we have a local boutique bringing in some really cute plus size clothes. ** UPDATE: To clarify, what I mean is I have had people ask me to write about the challenges of shopping for plus size clothing (see opening paragraph) and I haven’t done it because I was afraid it wouldn’t seem genuine, and this blog is very much written from a first person point of view, not that readers don’t want to read about plus size clothing. That being said- if anyone wants to take on that topic here let me know!!**

Love to all y’all,

Molly

Molly — THANK YOU! I know that you didn’t want to address this issue because it’s not a personal issue for you, but for those of us it is an issue for, this is perfect! I will most definitely check out and support any boutique that has plus size clothing! Thanks again!
