Thrifty Thursday #7

[collapse title=”Thrifty Thursdays #7″ collapseid=”UniqueID”]Every Thursday you can expect a feature of some of the clothing, jewelry, shoes or other nick-nacks that I find in local thrift stores! I’ll also provide y’all with some thrifting tips on how to find these beauties!

Since Karats and Keepsakes revamped their store, we decided to feature them again for this Thrifty Thursday! With shorts and sundress weather right around the corner, this Thrifty Thursday can hopefully give you some ideas on how to pair your thrifted items with boutique quality style.

The first thrifted item featured I snagged from a Salvation Army from somewhere around $4. It’s a light army green jacket that has no holes or any signs of damage. It fits perfectly with my style and matched great with this purple patterned maxi dress from Karats and Keepsakes. Katelyn from the store helped us put the outfit together with the arrangement of necklaces and earrings, making the outfit complete!

P.S. The earrings featured in this outfit are on sale for $18!!

Next, we put together a casual college look using a pair of thrifted high waisted shorts from Goodwill (around $3). We styled it with a tank from the Fraternity collection at Karats and Keepsakes, a pair of simple double circle earrings, a simple scarf, and a hot pink Kavu shoulder strap bag. The bright colors are perfect for Spring style and the simplicity of the Kavu, and comfort of the shorts and tank make it a super simple outfit for every college student facing finals week.

This last thrifted item is my most recent: this dress I found at a local consignment store for $14. It’s a simple sundress from Forever 21 that looks as if it has hardly ever been worn. We created an outfit from simple drop earrings, a variety of jeweled bangles and a silver ADA belt. (This belt can actually be worn 8 different ways!)

The obvious Goodwill and Salvation Army are not the only places to look for cheap, thrifted items. Local consignment stores, places like Plato’s Closet, local thrift stores (both small and large) all carry a different variety of clothing options. So don’t be afraid to venture into those smaller stores because you never know what you could find!
Thrifting is treasure hunting. So from one treasure hunter to another, keep on thrifting!
