The Southern Belle: Revised, Revamped, Reborn- Volume 1

The Southern Belle- a few images come to mind when we think of her- pearls, big hair (“The bigger the hair the closer to God”- as Nichole Mitchell says), perfectly manicured hands and feet…. But just as the southern belle has evolved through the years from Scarlett O’Hara to Julia and Suzanne Sugarbaker, she continues to evolve now.  This southern belle is just as comfortable in a ballgown on the farm as she is in her aviators and snake skin like pants. She isn’t afraid to get down and dirty and hitch up her dress and climb a silo (but we must wonder if only she had a paint brush and some John Deere green paint what would have happened). Her pearls might have a bit of an edge, such as in earrings, or paired with a chained necklace. If she isn’t wearing pearls then by God at least let her accessories be from some Southern designer. And her manicured hands and feet might wear a darker color than “beige and buff”. But always- always- with her big hair and pearls.

Here we have the “edgy”, modern Southern Belle, volume 1 is presented with fashions from fab’rik in Macon, Georgia.
