Tasty Tuesday: Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Y’all know I’m a huge shop local, eat local kind of girl. But when a marketing agency out of a big city emails and asks you to check out their spot… you get curious.

Sometimes you also find out that shop local/eat local can apply to local franchisees, too.

And sometimes the timing is right because you just joined a gym and the new place you’re asked to visit is a smoothie spot and it’s next to said gym.

So let me say: I genuinely like this place. I’ve been back several times since my initial visit that I was asked to do.

On the first visit, I tried a smoothie- of course. The Get Up and Goji. Now something that I thought was really cool is that they also have three different types of protein available: whey, soy, and pea protein. The pea protein is for you vegans out there.

I also got the Jamaican Jerk Chicken wrap, and the Thai wrap. The Jerk Chicken was nice and spicy and hot- just as one might expect. And that Thai wrap had a genuine Thai peanut taste. Neither was overwhelming.

My kids also got smoothies, which they were super happy with.

Since my initial visit, I’ve had the Avocadolada (avocado, pineapple, spinach, kale, coconut and lime) which was really good and I felt like it was a good option while trying to eat better. The Triple Berry Oat is another good one, complete with whole grain oats.

All in all, I’m really pleased that we have this restaurant here. And everyone is very nice and wants to be sure you have a great experience!

Be sure to check them out- they’re on Tom Hill, right next to Chipotle. (Which I haven’t gone to, yet.)

Oh and- here’s our friend Steve Bell FIRST IN LINE for free smoothies:

Steve Bell is very excited about being first in line for FREE SMOOTHIES FOR A YEAR at the new Tropical Smoothies on Tom Hill. First 50 people!”
