Tasty Tuesday: Nummy Buns & a Sandwich

Cinnamon buns are a time-honored tradition in my home. We get and give them for any gathering which involves breakfast food. So, a family gathering, Thanksgiving, various church occasions and more.

For the longest time we just picked them up at the grocery store, heated them up, and would go. But not anymore.

Maconites and Middle Georgians can rejoice at the arrival of what I will call the Sacred Nummy Buns.

Sacred because they are so damn good, and are made locally.

Kevin McCauley and his wife, Britt, have become friends of mine. They came to Macon from Nashville- although Kevin is from here originally. Kevin has and still work for Hattie B’s- one of the legendary hot chicken producers of Nashville. So it’s only fitting that one legend would begat another.

Nummy Buns are available at Joe D’s- another local favorite of mine, where I often will pick up a sandwich and a sweet tea/lemonade combo to-go. (That’s also called an Arnold Palmer in case y’all didn’t know.)

The last time I stopped in I got the last pan of Nummy Buns available.

They have plenty of frosting, which I love, but they also have this candied thing going on at the bottom of the rolls. Just a touch of a hard candy shell along the bottom of the pan. It’s enough to make you coming back for more.

So drop in to Joe D’s for your sandwich fix AND your Nummy Buns for breakfast!

Love to all y’all,
