Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen: Part 1, The Food Interview

We here in Middle Georgia love our restaurants. One of my last posts was about all the places I miss. This- this is about one I know I’m going to love.

It’s not just that there’s a team of super cool people behind it. It’s not just that the food and beer will be good. It’s that there’s also going to be another place where I can go either for a late night thing, or lunch, or an early evening and feel comfortable bringing my kiddos. There’s not too many places like that around.

Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen will be the best of it all. A place where kids can play on arcade games (ok, yeah I guess I will, too), where I can have a beer, and where we can have a variety of food choices.

I had the chance to speak with Chef Katie a couple of weeks ago and to sample some of their upcoming offerings.

First up, pork rinds. I have to admit, I don’t like pork rinds. It’s not something I choose to order. EVER. But these are served with a hot honey drizzled atop and…. I honestly had no idea they could be so damn good.

“We also have a blue cheese mousse that we make in-house,” Chef Katie told me.

Who would have guessed that pork rinds could be so good, so amazing, so beyond what we expected?!

Secondly, this bahn mi sandwich. “It’s a somewhat traditional bahn mi with our in-house brisket,” Chef Katie said. “This one has a garlic aoli on it with fresh slices of jalapeno, fresh cucumber, and a nice thick slab of our brisket- in-house pickled daikon, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime over it.”

It was yummy. Not sure how else I can describe it. Yummy and good and yummy and good and more.

“Food, glorious food!!” – this is a sneak peek of the glorious #bahnmi sandwich at @piedmontbrewery opening soon in @mainstreetmacon!!

Thirdly, their dessert pretzel.

Um, I don’t think I’ve ever had a pretzel quite like this before to be honest. Have you ever have a food item that you can pick up anywhere else, but you go somewhere and they just make it 1000 times better than you ever could have thought possible? That’s this.

I’m quite excited about the opening of Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen, and so should you!

Coming up later? All about their beer!

Their Grand Opening Event is March 27th!

Love to all y’all,

Molly
