An Ode to Georgia Snow

You come down so pretty and in a flurry
Snow white goodness
Landing on my car and the drive
My kids love to run in you
As you fall from the sky
To cover their eyes, ears, and noses
They touch their tongues to you
In quick expectance of snowy winter goodness
Only to find
The snow they thought was falling
Was pollen from the Cherry and Pear Blossoms
Disgusted became their faces
As the taste soured on their tongues
And tears came to their eyes
As the pollen went up their noses
Sneezes became the call of the day
As they wept in mourning
That the Georgia snow
Was in fact
Pollen that would not be swept away
