A New Music Tradition

I’ve been lucky to go to Macon Pops ever since their very first concert.

I remember rushing over right over after my volunteer shift during Spirits in October at Riverside Cemetery (another fun Macon event coming up, well, next month).

Having to change in the dressing room out of my 1860’s themed attire into a cocktail dress, missing the first song as all.

The Auditorium was lit up and looking like I had never seen it before. The sounds were loud and full and amazing.

I can never thank Roger enough for inviting me to his table for that first show!

Floco and Slim’s tribute to hip hop was another favorite of mine:

Every year gets better and better…. there’s always something new they’re doing.

This year they held their second annual opening concert on the grounds of Middle Georgia State College. I think it’s a fantastic way to start out the season, right when the weather is starting to feel good. This is also their second season being showcased at their new venue: Mercer University’s Hawkins Arena.

The sound is amazing, the large screen tvs and video equipment allow for a closer view of the musicians.

Their next show is November 17th, at the Cox Capitol Theatre, called “Top to Bottom: The Beatles, Rubber Soul, & Revolver”. Trust me- you won’t want to miss it! Then back to Hawkins Area for “Latin Pop Revolution!”- I already know I need to get my dancing shoes ready for that one….

Love to all y’all,

Molly
