New Dining at Metro Diner

It always seems like the opening of a new restaurant is something we Maconites flock to, and the opening of the new Metro Diner was no exception.

They were generous enough to ask me to come in with my family and check them out.

I brought the two toughest critics in my family: my kids. Just imagine how a new restaurant might fare with an impatient 7 and 8-year-old with very picky tastes about what they WILL and WILL NOT eat. It’s enough to send anyone trembling.

LK ordered the Pigs in a Blanket– but with no powdered sugar. She was suspicious of powdered sugar and wasn’t sure if she would like it.

This one was quite happy with her trip to @metrodiner_official!! #foodie #littlecritic

If it’s not clear, they were a hit!

B got the waffles- but didn’t want butter on it. Hates butter.

This #littlecritic was quite happy with @metrodiner_official as well!!

Also a happy camper!

My boyfriend got the meatloaf, and I ordered BOTH the Spicy Honey Chicken biscuit AND the Yo Hala On The Square.

Ok, the Yo Hala On the Square is not something I would ordinarily order because I’m not big on sweet breakfast items (even though this was at dinner) but I actually quite liked the challah bread stuffed with bananas, cream cheese, brown sugar and hazelnut syrup. Then cooked like French Toast and topped with a blueberry compote.

Of the two, I liked the Spicy Honey Chicken biscuit the best. It’s exactly as described- and made me one happy lady.

My boyfriend very much enjoyed his meatloaf and raved over his mashed potatoes, I’m afraid he ate it before I could get a photo. (Hahaha)

We enjoyed our visit to Metro Diner, and will be happy to visit again!

Love to all y’all,

Molly
