Music for my Babies

I have got some pretty damn cool kids, if I say so myself. They LOVE music. I can play anything from Beethoven to Outkast to The Allman Brothers and they are happy. Here lately they are loving The Black Keys and Thomas Wynn and The Believers- sorry I know I keep talking about them but when I find a new group I like I kind of tend to wear em out. Anyways…

I told yall once before about enrolling my kids in the My First Music Discoveries class and we are wrapping up our lessons there. I’m going to really miss doing this every week- my kids have totally loved it. The classes are in both Macon and Warner Robins. My kids were older than most in the class: there were mostly infants and younger toddlers but they really enjoyed learning the songs as well as some basic musical skills.

This class would really be fantastic for babies who are starting to develop their motor skills. It’s also well known that music helps children in math and reading fundamentals.

From this CNN report:

” Researchers who looked at the math test scores of 25,000 students found that those students who were deeply involved with any kind of instrumental music scored significantly higher than those who were not.

‘Music has lots of mathematical aspects to it, so being involved in music sort of conducts your brain to thinking fluidly, mathematically,’ said James Catterall, the UCLA professor who headed the study.”

So, if you are interesting in finding music lessons for your child I would heavily encourage checking out My First Music Discoveries class. And you can always email me with questions 😉

Love to all yall,
