Macon, Georgia Favorite Wins Best Beverage at Flavor of Georgia

Events like the 2017 Flavor of Georgia competition help entrepreneurs spread the word about their products. Participants have even been able to end up in regional and national grocery stores like Whole Foods, Ingles, Fresh Market, Earth Fare, Kroger and Harvey’s.

This time the winner for Best Beverage hails from Macon, Georgia and it’s Biron Herbal Teas! They are an artisan tea company founded by Andi Biron, a Macon native. Congratulations to their Worryfree Tea which brought home the category award. Their gourmet herbal teas use whole herbs, not remnants, for a flavorful cup of tea with maximum benefits.  Worryfree was designed for those that tend to worry or have anxiety.  Herbs such as Kava Kava and Ashwagandha, Chamomile, Jasmine, and Lavender, help the mind and body relax.

They were chosen from 100 products that were submitted and 33 finalists. From there, the best 10 products were chosen as best of the best in their respective categories and given their awards.

“Governor Nathan Deal, Agricultural Commissioner, Gary Black and UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Dean and Director, Sam Pardue, congratulated the category and grand prize winners at UGA’s Flavor of Georgia Food Product Contest’s grand finale, Tuesday, March 21, at the Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta,” according to a release.

“Category winners received an award and membership in the state Department of Agriculture’s Georgia Grown program, statewide notoriety and bragging rights. All winners and finalists earn the right to have their products stamped with the 2017 Flavor of Georgia logo. They also gain exposure to grocery buyers and food industry professionals who judged the final round of the contest.”

We’ve talked about Biron Herbal Teas here before, and we’re already fans. We’d like to think that Flavor of Georgia is simply catching up to what we already knew 😉

You can find Biron Herbal Teas in Macon at Travis Jean Gifts in Downtown Macon- and we will have our own review on some of their new products coming soon.

Congrats to Biron Herbal Teas!!!

Love to all y’all,
