Loads of Charm in this New Downtown Macon Restaurant

Good food, good coffee, and lovely decor that transports you to somewhere other than just here….

No, that’s not quite right.

Excellent handmade pastas, amazing coffee, and the feeling of being in a large metro area….

That’s not it either.

I’m on point about the food and the coffee- so let’s start with that.

My family and I went to Oliver’s Corner Bistro for dinner a few weeks ago and it was lovely. Since we were there just before their liquor license arrived we grabbed coffee to drink- which was helpful anyway because Nathan and I were taking the kids to see a movie and honestly, we’re usually heading towards bed around 8:30/9 pm. The coffee was great, but the food was amazing.

Anytime I can go somewhere and get handmade pasta I’m sold. This wasn’t just handmade pasta, though, it was handmade ravioli.

Also, I don’t like smoked salmon as a rule. But this was out of the park amazing. It was also their special that day, so not sure when it will come around again but just try whatever they have on special. I’m sure it’ll be a hit!

I also went back later that week to do some work. So I sat down at the bar and ordered a coffee- whatever they recommended. Which ended up being a mocha latte, as best as I can recall. Again, it was awesome.

I do believe this will be my new spot to go and have coffee or a glass of wine- especially now that they got their license!- and can do work or even just grab a great meal.

They’ve also got a kids menu- on the backs of children’s books!

Also, the feel of the place is awesome. I started to say before it felt like being transported out of Macon but I don’t think that’s fair. It’s something I would have said two years ago, and I don’t think that’s true anymore. I think our downtown is developing quite the cosmopolitan personality, while still being quintessentially Macon.

It’s a great time to be here, and you should go see Oliver’s soon! Especially since they are positioned perfectly by the downtown Christmas lights on Poplar.

Love to all y’all,
