Finally Finding Some Peace!

I’m a busy person, which makes me sound like an asshole.

But it’s true! Even though I’ve dropped a lot of things that have been on my plate over the past few years: graduate school, freelancing fulltime, various leadership classes, various volunteer obligations, etc.

While I’ve dropped those items, more have been added: running a candle business with my mom, adding a retail section to this site, starting a new job that requires some amount of travel, and also traveling for this website.

And others are consistent, like being a mom to two equally busy and loud and always asking questions children (like they are doing RIGHT NOW AS I WRITE THIS- so sorry if there are typos).

No matter what I do, it seems I’ve always got more on my plate than I can handle. Add to that trying to make it to the gym to lose the weight I’ve gained over the past year and a half of more stress than usual in my life- and also just neglecting going to the gym.

It was in this moment of frustration that I posted on my Facebook looking for suggestions on how to do Whole 30. Frankly, I was looking for an easy (ha!) way to lose weight. The result of this was a message from my friend Christa Conn- and a suggestion: put myself in her hands for a whole new whole LIFE plan.

She sent me a questionnaire, which allowed me to realize that really the biggest thing adding to my sudden weight gain was stress. It seemed silly to not realize that this was likely my biggest contributing factor. But of course when you’re stressed and don’t have enough time it’s easy to let this happen. Especially for women because we’re taught we have to be everything for everyone else. To do otherwise is to be selfish.

Of course, that’s just ridiculous. Doing Christa’s coaching plan has been an incredible help to me. I realized just how absurdly stressful my job at that time was, and when another offer came along I listened and jumped at it. I started taking her yoga class and even went out of my comfort zone and tried The Wall Yoga at Cor Studio:

Christa even made this entire guide for me with a meal plan as well as a guide for when to workout, how many times to do so, and added meditation. But she did this based on the answers I gave her in the original questionnaire. She asked me what was I interested in, did I think I wanted to add meditation, how strict could I go with my diet?

One big key to making this work are her follow up meetings- I’ve fallen off this wagon a few times but she doesn’t make me feel bad about it. Instead, she celebrates what I have achieved thus far and gives me plenty of positive reinforcement.

This is just a taste of how this has worked, and I’ll be bringing y’all more details soon. In the meantime, if you are interested in this- check out her website! I guarantee you will love her programs.

Love to all y’all,

Molly
