Design, Wine, & Dine 2015: Which Whiskey?

It’s Design, Wine, & Dine time again in our beautiful Macon GA.  While there are some very interesting and educational events happening during the daylight hours of this festival, hosted by the Historic Macon Foundation, it’s the after hours events that I’m most excited about.  But hey, that’s just one man’s opinion, and that man just so happens to be a bartender at one of the best bars in town.  So, maybe he’s a little biased.  {Insert chuckle to myself here}.

Speaking of after hours events, DWD 2015 is featuring a Whisk{e}y Tasting at just such a bar.  Which bar you ask?  The aforementioned, that is among the best in show of course!  More specifically, that bar is a place I’m proud to call home and its name is Dovetail.  Before I started slinging quaffs across this fine bar just about a year ago, I was a regular fixture on the other side of the slate for two reasons.  1. The cuisine designed by Doug Sanneman and sent by our kitchen staff, is absolutely to die for and not to mention it’s at a decent price.  2. We have the absolute best whisk{e}y selection in town.  The latter of these reasons is why you should find yourself a seat with us this coming Monday, March 9th for a Presentation & Tasting of this fine spirit.

For a mere $40 you’re going to get a 3 flights of 3 different labels of whisk{e}y hand selected by each of our barkeeps {Sierra, Haley, & Myself} + a presentation on each flight.  As I previously mentioned, Dovetail runs the gamut on whiskey.  So, these selections will range from American Sour Mash, Rye, Bourbon, Corn, Barley, Scotch, Irish, and Canadian.  Yes, there’s a difference in the spelling of whisky and whiskey for a reason.  No, I won’t tell you right now.  Why?  Well, that wouldn’t be any fun would it?  Why know the difference now, when you can’t taste the difference right now?
