Blues, Brews, Bar-B-Que and Lots of Tunes in Macon

SO MUCH HAPPENING this weekend!!!! Ai-yi-yi what’s a girl to do?

Here’s an easy run down of what’s going on in Macon this weekend.

Take a listen here as well:

1. the Macon League of Creative Interventionists Pick-up Kickball Game

I just told Floco Torres, two seconds ago, that this was happening and he said “Where?! That’s so dope!”

And it is! 6:30 pm at Rosa Parks Square, Tattnall Square Park, across from Mercer University. Be there cause Floco says it’s “dope”.

2. The 567 Coffee Talk With the Artists

7 pm on Friday, in between kick-ball and some tunes check out this coffee talk with the artists whose works are currently on display at the 567.

3. The BBQ, Blues, and Brews Concert Series at the Cox Capitol Theatre

Catch this kick-off concert series at the Capitol with Moreland and Arbuckle, where there will also be a special selection of Sweetwater Brewing Company beers on tap- AND a BBQ buffet from Georgia Bob’s BBQ.

And then…. Saturday!!! Saturday is the Macon Beer Festival.

So check it out: one ticket includes:

1 wrist band

1 three ounce tasting pilsner

and $5 off of at Weaver’s Weekend entry

and if you get VIP tickets you can start early at Downtown Grill, 1:30 pm, and get even more goodies including getting to try some special beer from Macon Beer Company. Plus, this event benefits Pints for Prostrates.

Then that night there’s Weaver’s Weekend at The Crazy Bull, 7:30 pm catch local act Gringo Grande, Nashville-based Sonia Leigh AND one of my favorites: The Dirty Guv’nahs. Those guys are easy on the eyes AND very polite- as I can attest to when I photographed them at the Cox.
