And How to Accessorize: The Ultimate Maxi Dress, from The Red Dress Boutique

So I gotta be honest- I have been intimidated by the maxi dress for a while. However THIS ONE made me fall head over heels in love with this maxi dress. It is the same dress I wore in my most recent blog posting, and I have to tell you I went over a ton of options when I wore it.

One could easily wear this dress with a sunhat, going minimal with accessories. If so I would suggest a straw hat either of a natural color or black. I would also wear either simple sandals (depending on your height) or if you are short like me, some sky high nude colored heels.

Or you can do as I did: glamorous stud earrings (Disco Ball earrings from Diana Warner), simple necklace (Aquamarine Colors by the Yard from Tiffany’s), hot pink heels (by Jessica Simpson from Dillard’s- and not my first choice but I managed to leave the house with only one pair of shoes- but they worked perfectly!) and my “arm party” courtesy of many, many boutiques and designers ( I will detail them later).

The arm party was a bit of a last minute inspiration. I knew I could only go big with one accessory, but which one? The recent bracelet “arm party” trend seemed to be best. Why? Because it was far enough “away” on my body from the dress so as to not compete with the bodice. Seems easy doesn’t it? These bracelets are from: Karats and Keepsakes, Jack and Darcy, Rumor, Sorella, Knot + Bow, Head Over Heels, fab’rik, and Betsy Pittard.

Now- I have a confession. This won’t be a big surprise to any of the ladies who have done my hair and makeup for various photo shoots but- the hair isn’t real. Yes shocking I know but the age of clip in hair extensions has just made it too easy! My stylist Nichole will laugh because I have been cheap for SO LONG and refused to shell out the money for the clip in kind however I have a big big thank you for her- because i am loving my new hair. Doesn’t it look real? I know the picture is blurry but still…

Well, off I go to First Friday. Will I see you out and about? I certainly hope so!
